Gainesville woman arrested for throwing bricks at neighbor who sprayed her with a hose
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Andrea Lavon Watson, 45, was arrested yesterday for allegedly throwing bricks at a neighbor who sprayed her with a hose.
At about 5:57 p.m. on October 16, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to North Lincoln Heights, where the victim said she and Watson had been arguing over a fire Watson had built in her back yard. The victim told the officer she used a hose to saturate her yard so the fire would not damage her yard, and Watson reportedly stated spontaneously that the victim sprayed her with the water hose. The officer noted that Watson’s shirt was still wet when he arrived.
Watson reportedly asked the victim to stop spraying her, and when the victim didn’t stop, she allegedly picked up a brick or rock and threw it at the victim; when the brick did not hit the victim, she allegedly picked up a second brick and threw it at the victim’s hand, resulting in a small cut to the victim’s hand. The officer noted that there was a pile of bricks in Watson’s yard that matched the two bricks that were found in the victim’s yard.
Post Miranda, Watson reportedly admitted to throwing two bricks at the victim and added that she picked up a third brick but put it down when the victim stopped spraying her with water.
A witness reportedly told the officer that he saw the victim spray Watson with a hose, and Watson picked up a brick, threw it and missed, and then picked up a second brick, which hit the victim.
The officer noted that due to the size of the brick, “one could believe that it could cause great bodily harm when thrown.”
Watson has been charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm. She has two misdemeanor convictions (non-violent). Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $50,000 and prohibited her from returning to her home.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

I’d throw a brick at my neighbor too if they kept spraying me with a water hose. $50k…What am I missing?
Common sense would be like… Ohhh idk maybe walk next door and talk to your neighbor? Spraying water and throwing rocks at each other makes them both look dumb af.
Then again it could just be a silly misunderstanding —
Maybe it was a quiet evening with a cute little fire and a couple s’mores when all hell broke loose and out of nowhere we got a wildfire! The world turned black, unborn babies started to cry, and the s’mores…BURNT.
With no time to waste a neighbor sprung into action risking their life (and water bill) to extinguish the flames, but had god-awful aim (blind) and squirted their neighbor instead.
The newly refreshed (and soaked) neighbor didn’t have any water but did have lots of bricks and frantically hurled them at the fire. Sadly, she too had terrible aim (double amputee, no arms, could only throw bricks with her feet) inadvertently striking the very one who tried to save her.
‘Twas a tragic day. A day that will live in infamy. The Water and Brick Massacre of North Lincoln Heights 2025 #NeverForget 😔
what about the first battery with the water hose?
