Gainesville woman killed, infant injured in I-75 crash

ALACHUA, Fla. – A 63-year-old Gainesville woman was killed and a three-month-old infant suffered minor injuries in a crash this morning on I-75, north of Alachua.
At about 7:30 a.m., a white Nissan SUV driven by a 63-year-old Gainesville woman was traveling northbound on I-75 near the 402 mile marker when it swerved off the road to the right, hit a large tree, and overturned. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the only other occupant, a three-month-old boy, was transported to UF Health Shands with minor injuries. Both occupants were properly restrained with a seatbelt or child restraint.
