Gas leak shuts down intersection of SW Williston Road and SW 13th Street

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alachua County Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue’s Hazardous Materials Team responded today to a large gas leak at 4000 SW 13th Street. The leak, reported before noon, caused the closure of the intersection of SW Williston Road and SW 13th Street for over an hour while crews worked to stop the leak.
By 1:00, crews had shut off the gas, but lane closures are still possible in the area.
It was a cut gas line by a contractor. GRU personnel repaired the the cut line not the fire department. And it lasted from noon till about 9pm.I was there and work in the gas department.
