Getaway driver in July home invasion homicide sentenced to 15 years probation and mental health treatment after plea deal

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tiara Lanae Luckie, 30, has been sentenced to 15 years of probation and residential mental health treatment after pleading nolo contendere to a charge of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder in the July 19, 2022, home invasion robbery that resulted in the shooting death of D’halani Armstrong.
Luckie, who was represented by Huntley Johnson, was originally charged with accessory after the fact to a capital felony, a first-degree felony, but the final charge in the plea agreement was accessory after the fact to second-degree murder, a second-degree felony.
Luckie entered a plea of nolo contendere to the charge, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years, in exchange for 15 years of probation with a special condition that she provide truthful testimony consistent with her prior testimony to the State Attorney’s office in the case. She also entered a 6-month inpatient residential treatment and must follow any recommended aftercare. Adjudication of guilt was withheld. Judge William E. Davis signed off on the plea agreement.
Luckie was on probation for drug possession at the time of her arrest and stayed in jail for 157 days while awaiting trial.
On July 19, Luckie drove Alderious White and Jason Ward to a home where Ward allegedly kicked in the door of the house and held two residents at gunpoint. White allegedly shot Armstrong; a release from Gainesville Police Department stated that the incident was believed to be drug-related.
According to the arrest report, Luckie drove White and Ward past the house at about 6:30 a.m. but did not stop. At about 6:40 a.m., she reportedly drove past the house again and stopped to let Ward out of the car. He reportedly knocked on the door of the house, but there was no answer. He came back to the car, and they reportedly drove to the house a third time at about 6:50 a.m. and parked. Both Ward and White reportedly got out of the vehicle and then allegedly broke down the door and entered the house.
After Ward was shot while wrestling a resident of the home for a gun, surveillance video reportedly shows him running out of the house from a side door, holding his torso; he then got into Luckie’s car, and she reportedly drove him, at his request, to the house of his cousin, where she knocked on the door and told the cousin that Ward had been shot. Ward got into his cousin’s car, and she drove him to the hospital, where the emergency room contacted law enforcement to report a gunshot wound victim.
Ward and White remain in custody, awaiting the resolution of their cases.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
BS… slap on the wrist 😤.. yeah this is gonna deter criminals from aiding people in crimes.. FLORIDA WAKE UP..REPUBLICANS..cmon maaaan. This u can’t blame on Dems soft on crime bs.. we don’t run jack in Tallahassee.. nothing..you want this 2 stop talk with the people you voted in..
The slap on the wrist is a result of the State Attorney who is an absolute joke and should resign.
Stop blaming Tallahassee for local incompetence.
I blame both Tallahassee and “local incompetence.”
I blame lawyers in general, the parasites of Fla.
Believe me Gee Zus. Florida has W.O.K.E. up. That’s the problem.
Slap on the wrist for Accessory to murder after the fact. She knew it was wrong. Former Gator football player and cops kid got off way to easy.
I wonder if the State Attorney and judges will give the murder victims family members less of a sentence. Unfortunely there really nobody involved that is without blame in this mess. If you live a thug lifestyle except the devil to knock on your door.
Un-F-ing believable! She walks with a slap on the wrist and has to “tell the truth” at future proceedings. Aren’t they supposed to tell the truth under oath, anyway? That is what is wrong with our justice system. It is based upon the foundation that people will tell the truth under oath. But, they don’t. They lie, and this crap goes on and on. And yes, I think she got off easy cuz her daddy is a former Gator footballer. Sad, sad, sad. Look at the police report – there were 5 victims, with the youngest being a 10 year old child. The kids cowered in a bathtub in one of the rooms while the attack took place. Those kids are scarred forever. This P.O.S. should never see the light of day again. Brian Kramer does need to lose his job. The sooner, the better!
It’s all about who you are or who you know. Kramer and Colaw sent me to prison for over a year for a DUI.
Good, drunk drivers murder people when they kill them driving drunk. I hope you are well in every sense of the word and don’t drive drunk anymore.
Her dad was a police officer at UF. Great role player in the system that failed again!!
and an incompetent one at that!
Are you kidding?! Demonrat justice.
Kramer is a Republican idiot
An idiot by any other name is still an idiot.
I guarantee that barely anyone here in Gainesville can go 15 years on probation without getting in trouble again that’s a very long process doomed for failure she will violate eventually trust me
15 yr probation is only guaranteeing a future income for the attorneys and judges. Of course they’ll see her again in court. $$$
She should have a ‘work purposes only’ driver’s license and a 10 pm curfew while she is on probation. Stay inside her home and stay out of trouble.
I’m not sure if it applies in this case, but if the state has a weak case they will let one person off in order to get the other two more violent offenders convicted. That’s not being weak on crime. There would be no Mafia convictions without this practice.
These aren’t organized crime bosses. There is plenty of evidence to convict them. It is probably easier to get her to testify instead of building three cases, if laziness could play a role.
Another contrite and remorseful mugshot. Anyone who follows these must surely see a pattern to the frequency of repeat offenders.
Judge Davis, who signed off on this horrendous miscarriage of justice needs to be voted out of office at the first opportunity. She was an accessory to MURDER not a person driving without a license or something minor. Unreal.
“Mental health treatment” WTF is going on here? Every equity milking program they can think of.
Doc Luckies kid? Thats why Huntley is representing her and she got a sweet deal! Should be in jail awaiting trial! This circuit is run by an incompetent SA; and his underlings and woke judge buddies need to be purged! So happy to be retired from this garbage. The SA and judges when I worked were all decent people, cant say that for this present group of wokers!!!!!!!!!!!! SMB!
A criminal at heart! It doesn’t matter about her mom a teacher and dad a failure of a football gator and the people they know! How can a criminal that knew that the perpetrators were carrying loaded guns, entered the home, hear the gun shots and remain parked outside as a get away driver act as though nothing was going on, only receive 15 years of probation? She is guilty!! She will not go 15 years crime-free!!! Her parents and sister may b r now, but it will not last! It’s in her DNA!!! She is headed for trouble and the family who lost their child; how can this be justified? Fifteen years will be a lifetime for a hardened criminal!!! She will not last long!!! Will she kick the door in next time?!?!
