GFR extinguishes fire in abandoned house

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Fire Rescue responded this afternoon to an abandoned house that was fully engulfed in fire; the fire was brought under control in nine minutes.
At about 4:35 p.m. on October 25, units responded to a residential building fire at 1318 SE 2nd Avenue and arrived within five minutes. The fire was brought under control in nine minutes and declared out in 15 minutes.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Multiple units were still on scene at 5:30 p.m., and citizens are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Squatters or insurance fraud?
Who am I to judge? Maybe a homeless person found one, (a home), available but didn’t know campfires were intended for outside. Better yet, maybe the City gave away another home.
