Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Fire Rescue crews extricated a patient from a vehicle after a crash at the intersection of NW 8th Avenue and NW 6th Street.

At about 1:50 p.m. on April 28, crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle accident just outside Gainesville Police Department Headquarters. Crews found one patient trapped inside a vehicle, quickly stabilized the vehicle, and performed an extrication to safely remove the patient.

  • One of Gainesville’s formerly ‘efficient’ intersections that has been turned into a bicycle lane that is rarely used; maybe M & M can sue.

  • I don’t know how the City of Gainesville does not established a reduce speed close to the Police Department. Also, with the narrowing of 8th Avenue to make it bigger for bikers, who do not pay car taxes, have more space than the vehicle lanes…
