GFR puts out fire on NW 4th Avenue

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – At approximately 5:50 a.m. this morning, Gainesville Fire Rescue firefighters responded to a house fire in the 700 block of NW 4th Ave.   

Firefighters arrived on scene in just under four minutes and immediately began applying water to the fire and searching for victims. A total of 18 firefighters responded to extinguish the fire within eight minutes of arrival. The home of origin suffered extensive damage, but a fast response and immediate coordinated actions by firefighters protected surrounding homes.

No civilian or firefighter injuries resulted from this fire. The fire is under investigation.
