TALLAHASSEE, Fla.– Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announces one judicial appointment to the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court.

Van Vorst has served as a county court judge for Alachua County since 2017. Previously, she served as a General Magistrate in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. She earned both her bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from the University of Florida. Van Vorst fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Moseley.

  • An excellent choice! Congratulations to Governor DeSantis, Judge Van Vorst and the citizens of Florida.

  • Apparently her husband of over 20 years died a little over a year ago from a type of brain tumor and has 3 kids.

Congrats on the appointment and hopefully she calls balls and strikes impartially and with compassion were called for.
