Governor DeSantis signs legislation further enhancing Florida’s education standards on the evils of Communism

Governor DeSantis signs SB 1264 in Hialeah Gardens on April 17

Press release from the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis

HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. – Today, on the 63rd anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion, Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 1264, which strengthens Florida’s education standards that require teaching on the dangers and evils of Communism.

“The truth will set us free,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “We will not allow our students to live in ignorance, nor be indoctrinated by Communist apologists in schools. To the contrary, we will ensure students in Florida are taught the truth about the evils and dangers of Communism.”

“It is vitally important that every student learns about the dangers of Communism,” said Florida Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. “I know firsthand the evils that Communism brings, and I am proud to stand by Governor DeSantis as he signs this legislation to ensure Florida remains the bastion of freedom.”

Governor DeSantis signed SB 1264, which does the following:

  • Adds to existing Communist history standards with instruction on the history of Communism in the United States and the tactics of Communist movements.
  • Authorizes the newly-established Institute for Freedom in the Americas at Miami Dade College to promote the importance of economic and individual freedoms as a means to advance human progress—specifically in Latin America and the Caribbean.
    • This institute will partner with the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom at Florida International University.
  • Enables the Florida Department of State, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education, to recommend to the Legislature the creation of a Florida-based museum on the history of Communism.
  • Prepares students to withstand indoctrination on Communism at colleges and universities.

  • Joe McCarthy was right, and his statue should be installed everywhere today.
Commie scum have infiltrated so many American and globalist institutions, it’s insidious. And it’s failing, which means they are turning fascist in partnership with DC Feds and global corporations to feed off the plight they’ve sown.👿👹👺🤡

  • I can remember the smell of the blue inked put together pamphlet titled Americanism vs Communism. This was a required course at GHS in the early sixties. For 6 WEEKS!
Was in attendance the day JFK was assassinated.
LBJ and the great society had to get that subject removed and encourage government dependence. Look around, has worked well to keep the plantation intact.

  • Karl Marx wrote his manifesto as a knee-jerk reaction to “teach the history and dangers of” capitalism. DeSantis’ reaction is no different. The end game of the wealthy and those who want to be wealthy (or don’t want someone else to be wealthy) is to capture all the pieces, and they don’t care which board they’re playing on. Nobody learned then, and nobody is learning now. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, including both communism and capitalism. Man still hasn’t given up on the pipe dream of being able to govern himself and others by way of controlling resources he didn’t create. The only difference between the sides is who benefits, and the pendulum keeps swinging.

  • Might want to add Socialism to the syllabus while he’s at it.

  • May want to add $0ci@lism to the syllabus.

That’s bound to get the locals’ panties in a wad.

  • It is fascinating how specific, carefully selected, monumental historical topics are championed, while others are selectively swept under the rug – even banned from being openly discussed (let alone taught) in DeSantis’ education system. Famously, George Santayana concluded, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it”. We’re (particularly Floridians) headed in that direction.

  • Educating students on the evils of the federal reserve and all other central banks would be much for helpful.

Remember the two US presidents who fought back against the central banks got their heads blown off in public. Lincoln’s greenbacks and Kennedy’s Executive Order 11110

  • Our governor would cuddle right up to Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn. Let’s follow up with a course on Capitalism, the rise of income disparity in the USA, and how we are falling behind the rest of the civilized world in quality-of-life issues.
