Governor opens hair salons, extends state of emergency, declares Palm Beach County ready for Phase One

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

Governor DeSantis has released two new Executive Orders. Executive Order 20-114 extends the state of emergency for 60 days, as amended by Executive Order 20-112, Phase 1: Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida’s Recovery.

Executive Order 20-120 states that Palm Beach County can enter Phase 1 and that barber shops, hair salons, and nail salons may reopen on May 11.

Guidance for barber shops, hair salons, and nail salons may be found here. That document states, in part, that “Effective May 11, 2020, the following restrictions are mandatory for barbershops, cosmetology salons, and cosmetology specialty salons:

  • All customers will be by appointment only.
  • Allow at least 15 minutes between the conclusion of an appointment and the beginning of the next appointment for proper disinfecting practices.
  • No group appointments are permitted.
  • Masks must be worn by all employees while performing personal services.

Answers to frequently asked questions are here. That document states that patrons are not required to wear masks. It continues, “However, barbershops and salons are encouraged to consider providing unworn masks to clients for use during their appointment.”

  • Thanks for providing the info about hair salons…This
Was total BS that they had to be closed…these businesses
Are essential to the owners and employees who need
To put food on the table and roofs over their heads…
They are licensed professionals who get inspected. Things
Need to go back to normal ASAP.

  • No such thing in the constitution about a non-essential business. Crown agent DeSantis extends State of Emergency past Independence Day while 5 governors refused to apply lockdows in ND.SD,NE,.IA and AR… DeSantis also played dumb on the Parkland capstone event where nobody died then blocked public records to deny discovery of no death certificates in Crisis Actor event. The constitution is not safe in Florida.
