August 18, 2021

Press release from the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis
Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Mildred Russell to the School Board of Alachua County.
Mildred Russell
Russell, of Gainesville, started Miracle Life Ministries with her husband in 1990. They started churches in Athens, Georgia and Oxford, England and have ministered across the world. She volunteered on Front Porch Florida and was a tutor at Duval Early Learning Academy. Russell attended Western Kentucky University.
Great! Now we have the votes to get rid of She’s SO VANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2007 bio: Mildred is a former Chairman of the Alachua County Republican Executive Committee. She served as a Co-Chair of the Bush/Cheney ’04 Campaign for our County. One of the highlights of 2004 was attending the Republican National Convention in New York City. She now serves as an elected official in the Republican Party in the State of Florida, she is the State CommitteeWoman for Alachua County, Fl.
.
Nothing political about this appointment.
Elections have consequences.
What did you expect? Would you prefer he appointed some woke purple haired America hating CRT loving liberal???
Nice bio…
She’s also a female which should reap praise for her appointment.
Seeing as how you’ve already condemned her for being conservative, that will never happen. Just more liberal hypocrisy.
Keep on believing…
DeSantis & the Alachua County Republican Party should be thankful that Mrs McGraw provided this opportunity with her residency error!
Makes me fantasize about DeSantis getting the chance to replace Mayor Lauren Poe and his cadre once they drive the city into bankruptcy. A Republican appointed Mayor of Gainesville is a sweet fantasy!
Springs county loves the US constitution. We should
Just dissolve Alachua county and make it Springs County…life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness!
How can anyone hate the US constitution and it’s
God given inalienable rights? Only progressive
Commie control freak haters dislike the US constitution…
Springs County does not exist. It will never exist. It is just a delusional wet dream of a small cadre of crackpots. And if you get past the third grade you might learn that God is not mentioned in the US Constitution, but keep deluding yourself. Carry on.
Reality is… don’t think they said God was mentioned in the Constitution. Said something about inalienable rights given by God.
It is an illusion to most that “rights” are given by God and are interpreted as something being “given” by Him. If they were indeed rights given by Him, man could not take them away. If that were true, the social injustices here and across the world would not be happening.
Translation – a person only has the rights government, any government, allows them to have. Currently, in this country, Americans have more than any other…if it didn’t, why do so many want to violate immigration laws to get here? If we’re so “bad,” why do people come here for education and everything else this country offers?
All of you liberals thinking government doesn’t want to take some of your rights – you’re an idiot.
Everyone does not subscribe to YOUR god. My God can beat up Your god. Freedom of Religion also means freedom from people like you imposing your religion on others. You want a fascist theocracy, move to Iran. The US Constitution has no “God given” rights. Deal with it. You will NOT cram your view of religion down my throat, got it? You keep your religion in your house and in your church and out of government. The US is NOT a “Christian Nation”.
I wonder if McNealy will exhibit the same enthusiasm and excitement she did when Ms McGraw became a board member.
Nah! Never gonna happen. She’s too politically prejudiced and she’ll never admit it.
Keep on believing…
A rational human being on our school board? How could this happen?! Oh wait…
I really feel for this lady, she is being dropped into a snake pit. I am sure the other members will greet her with open arms and treat her with great respect. Yeah, right.
Ideally they would welcome her and treat her with dignity and respect. I don’t think that’s going to happen. However, how they treat her matters little in the bigger scheme of things. I hope she bases her arguments on reason and undisputed facts and spotlights how ungrounded emotional wishful thinking leads to destructive policies. The great biologist Thomas Huxley said “There is no sadder sight in the world,
than to see a beautiful theory killed by a brutal fact.” It’s time someone brings some brutal facts to the school board dais to destroy some beautiful liberal theories.
That was beautiful…
