Press release from the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis

ROME, Italy – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to grow the relationship between Italy and Florida. Both share common bonds, values, industry, and trade, and many Italian Americans call Florida home. Both are peninsulas with historic significance and uniquely beautiful natural landscapes.

“It was great to discuss relations between Florida and Italy with the Prime Minister today in Rome. We hope that Florida and Italy’s relationship continues to grow, and we welcome greater investment from Italian companies in our state,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “We appreciate the Prime Minister hosting our trade delegation this week, and we are appreciative of her efforts to advance the interests of her country and her people.”

This meeting is part of Governor Ron DeSantis’ international trade and business development mission to Italy, which includes stops in Rome, Viareggio, Florence, Turin, and Milan. The delegation is comprised of 85 representatives from various Florida industries including higher education, transportation and logistics, aerospace and aviation, military and defense, hospitals, life sciences, and manufacturing. The trade mission aims to create numerous economic opportunities for the state, as Italy is among Florida’s top twenty trade partners internationally, accounting for $4.4 billion in annual bilateral trade.

  • We tax payers are paying for 85 folks (donors) & their significant others for a vacation tour in Italy. Come on……

    • I’m ok with him trying to promote trade & business between Fl & Italy…that’s Better than the vagrants coming from everywhere to get taxpayer benefits from Grace and committing crime here and crapping up GNV.

      • She’s trying to clean up her country. I’m surprised Jazzmin isn’t here crying about her being an alt-right fascist.

  • “many Italian Americans call Florida home.”

OK. Many more African-Americans call Florida home.

When will Ron go to that there country of Africa and make warm fuzzy relations?

    • Casey DeS needs to be able to don her white gloves and capes for the diplomatic dinners. Africa just won’t do.

  • Giorgia Meloni is one of the toughest women in Europe. She doesn’t play games and has deported anyone who promotes terrorism. She stands out among all those socialists, much like the tyrant of Spain. I am very happy about this encounter. It will bring something good to our state. She is on our recovery wave to have our country back!

  • DeSantis continues to run about, wasting Florida’s money on his future political ambitions. Now he’s attempting to create a profile for himself as a world leader.

But Mr. Pudding Fingers just doesn’t what it takes to take over the helm of the MAGA cult, try as he might.
