  • Perfect. Mori is the reason UF is so screwed. He caved to DeS’s takeover of UF and its state funding and brought in Sasse whose hire helped fund DeS’s presidential campaign.

The UF plight is Mori’s legacy. So, sure, let’s give him another term to bring UF to the brink of destruction.

    • Thank you, UF Staff Member for speaking truth.

I agree with you & know the behind the scenes mess too.

  • I hope Mori and DeSantis are paying Sasse’s $1 million a year “severance” payment for “quitting”.

    • The time to complain about that would have been when the contract was being negotiated.

      • Putting aside the fact that Mori didn’t ask me to review the Sasse contract, can you show us that contract and highlight where it promises Sasse $1 million a year for quitting.

You don’t get severance pay when you quit. This was pay off money for getting fired and keeping his mouth shut.

        • Actually it WAS in his contract, Jazz. He negotiated quite the contract, unheard of before that in higher ed. Including that his children and grandchildren get free tuition.

The scam was in from the beginning. However, as you said, UF didn’t crowdsource Sasse’s gross, grifty contract. Mori just did what DeS wanted done – get Sasse out of Nebraska so Ricketts could become senator and DeS could get millions from Ricketts’ daddy for his doomed presidential campaign.

Then Sasse came in with his corporate raider/carpet baggers who proceeded to raid UF’s coffers. The irony is that Sasse railed against do-nothing tenured professors at UF and now look who is the do-nothing tenured professor earning $1 million a year for teaching one class (not a full course).
