TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis received the following bills from the Florida Legislature. The Governor has until April 5, 2024, to act on these bills.

SB 1512 – Controlled Substances

SB 1720 – Marine Encroachment on Military Operations

CS/HB 1415 –  Peer Support for First Responders

CS/CS/HB 1113 – Use of Lights and Sirens on Emergency Vehicles

CS/HB 801 – Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Training for Law Enforcement Officers

CS/HB 715 – Pub.Rec./Problem-solving Court Participant Records

CS/CS/HB 621 – Possession of Real Property (Squatters) 

CS/HB 583 – Individual Wine Containers

HB 533 – DNA Samples from Inmates

CS/HB 463 – Lights Displayed on Fire Department Vehicles

HB 377 – License or Permit to Operate a Vehicle for Hire 

CS/CS/HB 179 – Towing and Storage

HB 83 – Trust Funds/Re-creation/State-Operated Institutions Inmate Welfare Trust Fund/DOC

    • The lack of gun bills is the responsibility of one person: Senate President Kathleen Passidomo. She wouldn’t let any gun bills come before the Senate, even a bill passed by the House that reduced the age for purchasing long guns back to 18. Direct your anger at her.

      • Correct – Passidomo killed HB 1223 in committee, after it overwhelmingly passed the House. Frustrating.
