GPD asks for assistance in identifying suspects in X-tra Discount Beverage robbery on October 28

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is seeking assistance from the community regarding a robbery that occurred at X-tra Discount Beverage (119 NE 16th Avenue) on Monday, October 28, at approximately 10:00 p.m.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray Toyota mid-size pickup truck. It is becoming necessary for a law for liquor, convenience and drug stores to have a lock on the front door, and to enter, a customer has to be recorded by the surveillance system with a clear face, not obscured by any covering, mask, hood, etc. That would stop a lot of the robberies and shoplifting.
Wrong. The rest of us need not be penalized and inconvenienced. Simply make death penalty mandatory for armed robbery of liquor, convenience and drug stores.
