GPD asks for help in finding driver of Silverado that hit a motorcyclist on Jan. 19 and fled

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run that occurred on January 19, 2025, in the 3200 block of NW 13th St.
At approximately 6:25 p.m., a motorcycle was struck by a gray Silverado. The collision occurred as the motorcycle was traveling south on NW 13th St. The driver of the Silverado fled the scene and failed to render aid or provide information after the incident.
The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
We urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information regarding the driver of the Silverado to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be vital in our investigation.

I pray justice is served because that was so inhumane to leave a person in the state that young man was in. He is currently fighting for his life as we speak.
Please if anyone has any information, even if you think it’s nothing. It may help. He is like a son to me and this is heart breaking know someone could do this to another human. Please turn yourself in, before police find you and your consequences are worse. If it was an accident and you go scared , come forward, please for Zae & his family.
If you seen or heard anything please let the police know. My nephew didn’t deserve this. He fighting hard everyday to come out of this.
If you have any information on the person who was driving this vehicle when my cousin was hit please come forward. My cousin does everything and then some for his family he doesn’t deserve to be going through this at all. He means a lot us and this community and the residents of Alachua county. #JusticeWillBeServed this said the lord. Come forward and surrender turn yourself in.

Dark Tint on Vehicle Windows needs to be against Florida Law once AGAIN so one can see and identify a Vehicle Driver.
The law still exists. No tint below the AS1 line on the windshield, 28% max driver and passenger windows. 15% max rear side windows. Back window can be 0%. Fss 316.2953 Now only if there was the time and the personnel to enforce these laws that would be great.
My friend saw the accident right after it happened. He saw the truck on top of the motorcycle. But i never saw anything in the news about it. .
