GPD Chief asks public for help in identifying witnesses to Easter Sunday shooting at TB McPherson Center

Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Chief Nelson Moya has made a video, asking the public for help with the investigation into the shooting death of a 20-year-old woman at TB McPherson Center on Easter Sunday (April 20, 2025).
Chief Moya narrates video clips from the time of the shooting, asking attendees to come forward and help identify specific individuals. For example, the police want to know who the man in the orange box was with before and after the shooting, along with any vehicles he may be associated with.

Chief Moya wrote, “We cannot do it alone. If you saw something, heard something or know anything, no matter how small it may seem, please contact us. Your information could be the key to helping us solve this case. This is not just a police matter. This is about us as a community standing together against violence. Please contact Detective Matt Quinn at 352-339-0506 or the GPD Tip Line at 352-393-7700 with information.”

If this was an episode of the 1st 48 it’s been about 1968hrs. It’s not looking good. But I head Da’ Mayor has solution to stop city wide gun violence at parks. It’s Ban all parks.
It wasn’t an Easter shooting as much as it was a 420 shooting. Easter had nothing to do with it.
It was an easter egg hunt. You must call football games Beer parties, because you are developmentally disabled, huh loser
It was a drunken riot you cretin
Sad part is dozens of people in this “community” know who these people are but refuse to talk, even when an unarmed innocent woman is dead. A culture of 💩
Do yalls know Dat the McPherson park peeps is heroes???
Stop protecting this man! What if it was your family member that was shot? You would want witnesses to keep quiet and let the murderer go free? We’re sick of our neighborhood being terrorized by thugs! Justice for Ontaria and her family!
Ms Baisden was so young. God alone knows what she could have done. Law enforcement needs community support.
I think it is unfortunate that GPD and other officials are having to beg and plead with a community to get information. If the cultural community doesn’t care why waste money and oxygen on them. Let them do away with one another. It’s obvious outside of family, the areas population do not care that innocent people are being killed. If it was my family member I would be hunting down these gangsta wannabes.
Snitches get stitches……..however, maybe if you show up with some reward $$$$? Works like a charm.
