GPD investigates robbery in Mill Run connected to online marketplace transaction

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, in the 2300 block of SW 39th Way.

The victim had arranged to meet unknown individuals to sell clothing. Upon arriving at the location, she was approached by two black male suspects, both wearing all black clothing. The suspects displayed a firearm and demanded the victim’s clothing items and money before fleeing the area on foot.

A GPD K-9 team responded and tracked the suspects’ path, recovering a bag containing some of the stolen clothing. Despite an extensive search of the area, the suspects were not located.
