Praying for the best
G’ville is undoubtedly gaining a reputation for being a very dangerous City! How many more before a better, more active directive? Losing your experienced Officers due to the political environment has consequences. Change is needed now.
Not defending Gainesville, but any place can be a bad place when you say “a large crowd at 4:40 AM Sunday.” My bet is the crowd was drunks on the way home after closing time, not early risers on their way to church. Just guessing.
So Glad the State Legislature is watching Fat Harveys declared war on them as well as law and order in Gainesville. The City Commissions late party hours are directly responsible for Gainesville shootings doubling under the rule. When the are removed of control of the upside down, insolvent non sustainable GRU , They need to be removed from GPD Governance and any DA input. They are clueless , powerless and inept in Law and order. Right Areola? Right Poe Poe?
Not a surprise.
My Love and Prayers of Strength and Faith is continually with his Mom and Family as the Blood of JESUS is Healing Him Amen.
Teens / Men needs TO STOP TRYING TO BE JUDGE AND JURY CAUSE THEY WRONG as well As Some Officers around the Country.
For GOD says in his Holy Word & COMMANDMENTS, THY SHALL NOT KILL & I say THY SHALL NOT ATTEMPT TO KILL ,🙏🙏🙏 THAT ALL OUR FAMILIES BE SAFE. THAT VIOLENCE EXISTS NO MORE.
NEPHEW MY CONTINUED PRAYERS OF FAITH AND STRENGTH ARE WITH YOU. AUNTY LOVE YOU
4:40 am and there’s a large crowd
In midtown and a shooting? Let me guess….open container, drugs, and convicted felons with guns are involved. There should be a curfew within the city limits after 10pm. Why does the wawa close @ 10pm on the eastside? I thought the bars closed at 2am? He shoulda been in bed at 4:40 am and getting ready for church in the name of Jesus Christ our lord & savior. Amen.
So glad city leadership is preoccupied with suing the state. They’re obviously not as concerned with residents’ safety as they are with stealing GRU funds.
That’s what most criminals do, they don’t think what they’re doing is as “egregious” as other happenings.
A governor’s board of trustees to oversee GPD may have to be a logical counterpart to the governor’s GRU board, depending on whether the masked bandits will do their jobs effectively or throw tantrums and waste time. If they had any sense, they would have planned to replace Curry. Firing all three of her assistants seemed like a real dumb-ass move, and now she could obviously use one or more of them. Things aren’t so bad with the fire department and other basic city services, thankfully. We have the distinction of having the only Wawa that closes early aside from some of the Wawas in Philadelphia. More of the same isn’t the answer. We have roving mobs of people inspired by rap music and bath salts, including many from out of town, fueled by the no-open-container-law-until-2:30 a.m. policy. And the commission (especially the mayor) won’t do anything about it.
When are we going to wake up and get these hoodrats under control?
All this violent crime plus the panhandlers make a choice of going downtown to a restaurant or play easy. Don’t expose yourself to this crap and the businesses downtown won’t survive losing their tax base. But then when they take GRU away from city mismanagement where are the city commissioners going to get their slush fund $$$?
Forcing everyone to pay to park in that sketchy downtown parking garage is a pathetic way for the woke-broke city to try to raise money. We don’t need Streeteries – that’s a big crock to take away what were good parking spaces.
“Hookah party” parking lot crowd, perhaps? How many are college students, none? Native D1 residents keeping taxpayers awake again?
Large crowd in an altercation….wonder who that could possibly be??
