GPD investigating two shootings

Press release from Gainesville Police Department

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Sunday, September 18, Gainesville Police Department (GPD) responded to two separate shooting instances at residences. Thankfully, the victims did not sustain physical injuries.

At approximately 3:54 a.m., several callers in the area of the 1000 block of NE 26th Terrace reported hearing shots being fired. GPD officers responded and made contact with the victim. The victim said she was asleep in her home with her children when she heard and then saw her home being fired upon.

At approximately 7:53 p.m., multiple neighbors called in shots being fired in the area of the 1300 block of East University Ave. GPD officers responded, and while canvassing the area they observed a vehicle parked with the driver-side door open. Due to the proximity of the vehicle and suspicious circumstances, officers approached the vehicle. While officers were outside, a victim exited her residence and reported that her family and home were shot at.

GPD Detectives are actively investigating both cases, therefore initial information is limited. Anyone with information about either crime is asked to contact GPD Detectives at 352-393-7670 or remain anonymous by reporting tips to the Alachua County Crime Stoppers at www.stopcrime.tv.

GPD urges our neighbors to report all instances of gun violence and proposed violence observed in person and/or on social media.

  • 🤔 Can’t help but wonder. Person or persons pull up to your residence and decide to shoot.
It is Gainesville. Shootings are becoming as commonplace here as they are in Chicago. Notice any similarities?
Yep, you guessed it. Both sanctuary Democrat controlled cities.

    Best protect yourselves.

Wait for it, wait for it….

    • No, they aren’t becoming as commonplace as they are in Chicago. Two people a day get murdered in Chicago.

      • That didn’t take long.

Two a day? Is that how many it will take before people such as yourself decide to take a stand or will it take a couple more? Try this, “Progressive Democrat policies aren’t working.”
        You’re welcome.

    • 1+ 5 and counting…

Plausible deniability doesn’t make it disappear. Unfortunately.
