GPD makes child exploitation arrest

Press release from Gainesville Police Department

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Division, with the assistance of GPD SWAT, served a search warrant in the Northwood neighborhood. The investigation was prompted after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) provided GPD an investigative lead, known as a Cyber Tip, from X Corp. (formerly known as Twitter). The Cyber Tip revealed that an unknown user account distributed adult pornographic content (two videos and one image) to another user account who stated in the chat that he was 16 years old. The suspect account pretended to be a 13-year-old female during this conversation and stated that the content she distributed was of her 22-year-old sister. The suspect account provided their phone number to continue communicating with the 16-year-old.

Further investigation by Detective Montague, of the Gainesville Police Department, revealed that the suspect account holder was Emily Robinson (W/F, 05-19-2002). Emily Robinson is designated as a Sexual Offender pursuant to a conviction in Alachua County, Gainesville, FL, for Possession of Photo/Picture Showing Sexual Performance by a Child, from December 29, 2022 (Alachua County Court Case 01-2022-CF-000363A). This conviction stemmed from an arrest of Emily Robinson on February 8, 2022, by Detective Montague. Emily Robinson was then released from the Florida Department of Corrections on October 25, 2023.

On July 9, 2024, during a post Miranda interview, Emily Robinson initially only admitted to creating an account on X Corp. to chat with men and degrade them for money. Emily Robinson would eventually admit to the ownership of the suspect account in question and acknowledged all of her conversation with the 16-year-old boy, admitting that the sexually graphic content she sent to him was of herself. Emily Robinson stated that she knew what she did was wrong, believing that he was a minor, and that it was a “moment of weakness.”

Emily Robinson’s Correction Probation Specialist responded to the scene, and based on Detective Montague’s investigation, requested that GPD direct-file charges on Emily Robinson for Violation of Probation.

A preliminary analysis of Emily Robinson’s cellphone revealed a number of social media accounts, email addresses, and a phone number that was not reported and updated with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Sexual Offender/Predator Registry.

Emily Robinson was taken into custody and charged with Violation of Community Control Probation, Sex Offender Failure to Update Info, Sex Offender Failure to Report General Info, Unlawful User of Two Way Communication Device, two counts of Sex Offender Knowingly Providing False Registration Info, and three counts of Transmission of Harmful Material to Minors.

The Gainesville Police Department wants parents to be aware that children are being solicited and exploited through social networking applications. These social networking applications, like Facebook and X Corp., are also used to share images and videos that depict young children being sexually abused. Please be vigilant and aware of any social networking platforms your children may access.

  • Parents…please!!…take the devices away more often and actually spend more time with your children. The internet is not a babysitter…it’s a net to catch them. Once they are ‘caught’ their attitudes and thought processes will be altered to everyone’s detriment. No young child is mature enough to properly navigate the internet. These devices also ruin their happy chemicals…kids become disassociated with their regular physiological processes due to excessive screen time. And on top of all of that there are disgusting creeps (like this witch) that prey on children to satisfy their own perverted, satanic desires.

  • Same story. Another Pedo caught. 2nd time. Rehabilitation does work for the criminally sick desires that pedos have. I agree with Slice. Parents really need to limit time and access spent on the internet. Kids need more parent contact and interaction.

  • They should go back to chalkboards in public schools and real books.

No cell phones or laptops should be brought to school.

  • I mostly agree with Slice on this. Cell phones should be limited for kids to a certain age, and definitely not allowed in classes at schools.

Of course we don’t know for sure, but this women is probably not a pedophile but was doing it for the easy money.

      • Twice that’s been mentioned.
Desperate? Despicable? Deranged? Detestable? Disgraceful? Disgusting? Dumb?

      • A pornographer. Not the same thing as a pedophile.

“On July 9, 2024, during a post Miranda interview, Emily Robinson initially only admitted to creating an account on X Corp. to chat with men and degrade them for money. “

        • The Gainesville Police Department arrested a 22-year-old registered sex offender Tuesday on suspicion of sending sexually explicit material to a minor in violation of her probation.

Emily Robinson posed as a 13-year-old girl to send several masturbation videos to a 16-year-old boy on the social media platform X May 29, which she referred to as a “moment of weakness,” according to the arrest report.

In her brief online conversation with the boy, Robinson sent her phone number, which she said belonged to her 22-year-old sister, and videos of herself, which she said were of her sister. However, she does not have a sister, and while the content did not show her face, police made a positive match on her hand tattoos, according to the arrest report.

      • Substance abuser. I knew her in high school. She was always doing drugs. Almost overdosed once.

    • There’s nothing in the police report that indicates she was doing this for money. She was sending nude images of herself to someone she thought was a 16-year-old boy.

She was getting off on that. Sure, it is less typical for a female to be the pedophile but it happens.

      • Their family members and friends often do too. Many are under the spell of an abuser who knows how to groom victims of all kinds, turning them into apologists and enablers.

  • Why was Emily Robinson out of jail? Child sexual predators don’t change. They will keep offending as long as they have an opportunity to do so.

Detective Montague arrested this woman once and our lax system popped her back out on the streets. People can’t blame the police. They arrest. Judges release.

    • No it seems like they threw the book at her. Look at the long list of charges. She is a predator at this point and failed to keep with her offender registrations

  • Lord this makes me so sad, how can people abuse children like this? What makes these people tick? It’s a sick world, parents guard your children well, protect them as best you can from these evil people who would destroy their innocence without a thought.
