GPD releases weekly Gator STEP data
March 2, 2021
Press release from Gainesville Police Department
The following data reflects citations, warnings, and tickets issued by the Gainesville Police Department on West University Avenue from February 21-28, 2021. This data is part of GPD’s Gator STEP (Special Traffic Enforcement Program).
As reported last week, GPD’s focus continues to remain on West University Avenue from 34th Street to 13th Street, where speeding remains an issue.
If any of our neighbors have ideas or questions they’d like to share with GPD concerning Gator STEP, please feel free to contact us at: gpdpio@cityofgainesville.org
Other? Hmmmmm? Keeps popping up for some reason. Distracted driving? Driving topless? Racial profiling? Inquiring readers would like to know.
Wait for the circus tomorrow for the PR display on University Ave. They should monitor the individuals who drive by who are participating in the disregard of the “No texting while driving laws.”
The city wants control of University Ave but wants the state to pay for it. Sounds a lot like the Democrat run states who need the federal government to help them pay for their special projects and the mountain of debt they have incurred for their fiscal incompetence.
I asked about “Other.” They said it’s not broken down; there are “countless infractions under other.”
As a matter of convenience or opportunity? I guess we all are entitled to our own conclusions…at least until the cancel cultists tell us otherwise.
“Defund the police!!!”
🤔 “Oh, wait a minute… Where are the police???”
We definitely need to drive safer, especially in these congested areas. I’m just tired of the virtue signaling… 🙄
