GPD seeking suspect in attempted homicide

On Friday, May 28, 2021, at approximately 11:31 a.m., Gainesville Police Department officers responded to reports of an individual shot at The Grove Apartments (formerly Sugar Hill Apartments).
After arriving to the scene, officers discovered that Branden Keonnis Babcock (DOB: 09/20/1992) shot the victim multiple times after getting into an argument. The victim was taken to the hospital by a family member and remains in stable condition.
Babcock (6’2”, approx. 200 lbs.), fled the scene and has not yet been located. Babcock has an outstanding warrant for Violation of Parole (VOP) for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Sure hope he is apprehended before he kills someone. And that law enforcement can apprehend him perfectly peacefully, as that is the unrealistic standard they are now expected to achieve, no matter what…
