GPD seeks driver of white van in April 7 hit-and-run crash on NE Waldo Road

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Department is asking the public for help in finding the driver of a white Chevrolet van that hit a scooter on NE Waldo Road at about 5:45 a.m. on April 7. White paint chips and the Chevrolet emblem were found at the scene of the crash, and the van probably has damage to the front end. The van could be any year from 2003 to 2025, but it is believed to be a newer vehicle.
This crash occurred on Tuesday, April 7, at approximately 5:45 a.m. in the 5700 block of NE Waldo Road. The incident involved a Chevrolet van and a scooter. The van briefly stopped in the median before fleeing the scene southbound on NE Waldo Road.
The scooter rider was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
