Jasmine Nicole Maguire, 20, was arrested early this morning and charged with simple battery after allegedly hitting another resident of GRACE Marketplace in the head until he fell and then continuing to hit him.
According to the arrest report, the victim reported that he was standing near the front gate of GRACE Marketplace, “minding his own business,” when he was approached by another person. The two got into a verbal altercation, and the other person walked away.
Surveillance video reportedly showed that after that person walked away, Maguire approached the victim; she then walked away, wrapping something around her right hand. She then allegedly walked directly at the victim and began hitting him in the head with a closed fist until he fell to the ground. She walked away again, and the victim managed to get up and walk to the dorms for help. The whole sequence was shown on the surveillance video. The victim said Maguire used something sharp to cut him, but no weapons were seen on the surveillance video.
Maguire is being held on $10,000 bail with a requirement for mental health screening.

There are drug sales at Grace Marketplace, so there certainly could be prostitution and wanna-be pimps. Perhaps they wanted her to do something she didn’t want to be a part of. She looks upset.
