Hawthorne man arrested for pointing gun in road rage incident
Staff report
HAWTHORNE, Fla. – Allen Duane Miller, 64, was arrested yesterday for allegedly pointing a gun at another driver in a road rage incident.
At about 6:23 p.m. on January 23, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a road rage incident in the 6005 block of U.S. Hwy 301 in Hawthorne, where the victim said that Miller had pointed a gun at him.
The victim said he was driving behind an SUV that brake-checked him on Lake Susan Road, and then both vehicles turned northbound onto U.S. Hwy 301. The victim said he was in the left lane and Miller was in the right lane when Miller rolled down his window and started shouting at him; he said he rolled down his window, and expletives were exchanged before they both drove forward. When they stopped at an intersection, the victim said, Miller pointed a black handgun at him, and the victim said he thought Miller was going to shoot him.
After Miller heard there was a Facebook post about the incident, he reportedly contacted law enforcement and said, “I lifted my hand up so that he knew I had a gun.”
Miller reportedly said the victim’s car drove up close behind him on Lake Susan Road, so he pumped the brakes, and the victim’s car came closer. He said he felt threatened, so he took his handgun from his pocket and placed it on his lap. He said that after both cars turned onto U.S. Hwy 301, they exchanged expletives and kept driving. At the next stop, he said he picked up his handgun with his left hand to show the victim that he was armed, but he said he pointed it at the top of the windshield, not at the victim. He reportedly said the victim never threatened to hurt, shoot, or kill him.
Miller has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has no criminal history, and Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard set bail at $20,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Dumb Dumb let his feelings get in the way of common sense. Pull over and let the person go around and on his way. Cuss all you want after the fact. Now you may lose your right to own guns because you got butt hurt and couldn’t control your feelings.
If you looked up stupid in the dictionary, it would be the his picture be beside it you’ve never displayed a gun just for the hell of it. If the driver of the other vehicle had a gun he could shot him and been totally justified for being a fear of his life. Never pull a gun unless you’re intended to use it.
In such a case does law enforcement confiscate the firearm from the charged individual until acquitted or proven guilty?
Yes Ricky, that’s exactly what they do and if he bought it from a private seller instead of background check seller, they won’t give it back after the case is finished and then they turn around and sell those confiscated guns at auctions somewhere and keep the money
Local Law Enforcement return guns to owners after court proceedings. If the gun is confiscated upon guilty verdict or illegal g al to own it turned over to the Sheriff’s Office for destruction. There are no auctions. They may keep the guns for training etc. Destruction means melting them or taking them off shore to make a reef.
They have to prove it’s not self-defense. It’s not your job to prove it was.
Here’s another story about a guy pulling a gun – except he didn’t. That’s just the cover story from our lying president, Director of Homeland Security, the head of the ICE operations, Attorney General, and the Vice-president. (Hopefully they’ll be indicted for obstruction of justice in the not too distant future.)

In short, a guy who was directing traffic – keeping it moving – while holding a phone – no gun – is trying to help a woman an ICE agent just shoved to the ground after pepper spraying her and him. Other agents come over and help tackle him – he’s not resisting, has no gun in his hands and is still trying to help the woman. About 6 goons get him on the ground chest down, back up and at one point discover he has a gun holstered on his lower back. One agent grabs it and runs (?) and immediately following that another pulls a gun and shoots the guy who is helpless on the ground, still chest down, back up. Another agent then shoots him. The NYTs counts at least 10 shots. The agents scatter, looking like WTF as their prey lays dead on the ground, women shrieking. Again the agents deny a doctor who asks to aid the gut. ICE leaves with the gun – evidence you idiots – a bull s..t story which our lying leaders than parrot.
Jazz: you are a complete idiot! Moral of the story? Don’t interfere with law enforcement when they are doing their job…
See what happens? FAFO
What happen in Minnesota was a act of terrorism. In what state are you allowed to carry a concealed weapon without possession of ID or CWP. In what state of mind do you start imped a law enforcement operation while armed. Why would you go to a protest armed? Especially when liptards say it is a peaceful protest. No i think this guy besides being a nurse was also a full time protesters who disregarded what his own family said. “Don’t do anything crazy”well he acted out and found out. You don’t see much of his behavior in Florida because being a free red state if you F around you know you will find out. Case in point the idiot who tried to take on GPD found out. Once again you not understanding law enforcement or military combat situations. Scenes have to be deemed safe before aid is provided. Locally EMS stages outside of a perimeter until scene is deemed safe to enter. EMS does no good if they hurt also. Point you should be considering with Minnesota is why this guy decided to bring a gun to a peacefully protest only to film. He had the intent for a gun fight and lost. All three shooting there are a result of quoted peaceful protesters doing stupid things and finding out the consequences. The leaders in Minneapolis and Minnesota are doing nothing but stoking the fire.
What happened here in Alachua County was Bubba showed the gun to victim out of rage and lack of self control. He was arrested end of story.
You can carry in Florida with no license.
But you have to have a Florida ID to prove you are a resident. Plus law enforcement can verify you are allowed to carry and are not a convicted felon…
Here’s your murdered full time protestor performing a last rites for a veteran who died at his hospital. Be sure to expand it with the 2 arrows control to see the full frames.

Amazing the excuses Trump cult members will make – we call it TDS – to suck up his BS. In this case, all the bravado about the 2A being necessary to resist a too powerful federal government is jettisoned. 2A? What 2A? Legally carrying is reason to be executed to these hypocrites. Hey, he showed up with a gun which he did not “brandish” as head a..hole Noem claimed – reason enough.
The most important point of this entire nightmare is the complete and bold lies everyone from Trump down have said to justify murder when everyone – including you hypocrites – can see are disproved by video evidence. This is corruption of the worst sort and especially damning to followers like you all who have to pretend the videos show the lies they fed you. Good work suckers.
Your wrongly worded narrative has nothing to do with the State of Florida, Alachua County, or Gainesville. Your mental illness is peaking with TDS.
Bear, I get your full on MAGA, a true believer who must believe the obvious lies of the administration even when clear video evidence shows they’re lying. IN short a pathetic slave to BS who will even justify murder and support police state tactics on US citizens to get his fix.
Freedom my a.s. Slavery is what you like. We call it TDS.
Republican Senator disagrees, get a clue!
“We must have a transparent, independent investigation into the Minnesota shooting, and those responsible—no matter their title—must be held accountable,” Curtis, a first-term senator, wrote on the social platform X. “Officials who rush to judgment before all the facts are known undermine public trust and the law-enforcement mission.”
“I disagree with Secretary Noem’s premature DHS response, which came before all the facts were known and weakened confidence,” he continued. “I will be working with a bipartisan group of senators to demand real oversight and transparency, including supporting calls from @RandPaul for leaders of these operations to testify, so trust can be restored and justice served.”
Jazzy. Your TDS is consuming too much of your brain. Your version of events from another state have absolutely no bearing with the incident described in this article. Since you want to bring up examples, let’s look at one more locally: https://alachuachronicle.com/gainesville-man-arrested-for-pointing-gun-at-woman-at-the-crossing-at-santa-fe-complex/
You really need to seek professional help for your TDS.
Your a mean one Mr. Grinch. A real bad banana with greasy black peel. No more more guns for you!
