GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jernard Kieshaun Mann, 22, of Hawthorne, was arrested early this morning and charged with grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
A Gainesville Police Department officer reported that he saw Mann sitting outside his vehicle in the 900 block of SE 5th Avenue with marijuana in plain sight on the driver’s seat. A probable cause search of the vehicle reportedly produced a gun that had been reported stolen in 2020, plastic baggies that are commonly used to package drugs for sale, and 1.1 grams of cocaine that was cut into several pieces, which is a common technique used in the sale of crack cocaine.
Mann has no criminal convictions and is being held on $32,500 bond.
