Helene Update #18 – Waste collection update
September 27, 2024
Press release from Alachua County
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The Leveda Brown Environmental Park and the five Rural Collection Centers will reopen tomorrow, September 28, and be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents who typically receive waste collection services at their homes on Thursdays will have their waste collected this Saturday. Regular collection schedules and operating hours will resume next week.
Why does waste collection hate the Friday people?
How about the Friday people? We should be reimbursed every time we have to wait 2 weeks for trash and recycling because of storms.
Seems like a lot of effort to complain about your $6.35 a week for garbage when everyone is trying to get their garbage picked up after a hurricane. Largest cart is $330 a year/52 weeks. Don’t want to wait rural collections are open and are free to residents. Us people in the country just burn the tree limbs and don’t have to wait.
