Help pay it forward during “Stuff the Charger” food drive
Press release from Florida Highway Patrol
OCALA, Fla. – “Please stop at the closest FHP Station after your next trip for groceries,” said Captain Gregory S. LaMont, the Acting Troop Commander of Troop B of the Florida Highway Patrol. Captain LaMont is referring to the annual FHP “Stuff the Charger” Food Drive, which begins on November 1, 2023 and concludes on November 30, 2023.
Acting Troop Commander LaMont, who oversees the Counties of Hamilton, Suwannee, Alachua, Dixie, Columbia, Gilchrist, Levy, Lafayette, and Marion, is inviting citizens and corporate sponsors to drop off large or small food donations at their local FHP Station, after their next shopping trip. “Our goal is to feed the hungry through our partnership with local food banks and other non-profit agencies who do this important work on a daily basis,” said LaMont.
The following is a list of items that can be dropped off at any Troop B Station located in Cross City, Lake City, Gainesville, or Ocala.
Canned Goods: canned meats (ham, chicken, tuna), canned sweet potatoes, carrots, corn, green beans, canned fruits, etc.
Dried Goods: stuffing, boxed potatoes, rice, cornbread mix, grits & oatmeal, etc.
