High Springs City Commissioner Katherine Weitz backs Marshall Rawson for House District 10

Press release from Marshall Rawson for House District 10

HAMPTON, Fla. — Today, the Marshall Rawson for State Representative campaign announced the endorsement of High Springs City Commissioner Katherine Weitz.

“I’m thrilled to endorse Marshall Rawson for the Florida State House,” said Commissioner Katherine Weitz. “We have a shared passion for keeping government small, protecting our rural communities’ small-town charm, and defending the ecologically sensitive karst landscape that makes High Springs unique and a world attraction. Marshall is the fighter we need in Tallahassee!”

Katherine Weitz was first elected to the High Springs City Commission in 2021 and served as mayor from 2023-2024. While in office, Commissioner Weitz has prioritized fiscal responsibility and transparency and preserving the way of life that High Springs residents enjoy. She is a former analytical chemist and currently works as an HR manager for a local electrician.

“I greatly appreciate Commissioner Katherine Weitz’s support in this race,” said candidate Marshall Rawson. “While on the High Springs City Commission, she has worked tirelessly to promote government transparency and keep the city growing the right way. I look forward to working with her in the future to fight back against overdevelopment and protect the beautiful natural resources that make High Springs so special.”

Rawson is a lifelong Floridian and owns and operates Free State Growers, an agricultural business. Previously, he served as a Washington aide and intern to Republican Congressman Paul Broun, as a legal assistant to Secretary of State Cord Byrd, and as a legal intern for the Florida Department of Agriculture. A dedicated citizen-leader, he has also been an advocate across Florida for various issues, including immigration reform, state sovereignty, and agriculture. Marshall is the past Chairman of the Greater Melrose Republican Liberty Caucus and currently serves as the North Florida Regional Director of the Republican Liberty Caucus. He also serves in the Florida State Guard and has been deployed to the Texas border to help stop illegal immigration. Marshall and his wife Megan have been married for almost 8 years and have four children.

  • Our dedicated and conservative City Commissioner, Katherine Weitz, stands with Marshall Rawson; my family will also do so. We have witnessed how hard Commissioner Weitz has fought for our community’s interests. A significant advantage is having a state representative in Tallahassee who is willing to align with Commissioner Weitz and help maintain and preserve the lifestyle and values we cherish in High Springs.

  • Will I vote for a conservative? HELL NO! But of course, many other stupid ignorant people will.

  • HD 10 is shaping up to be a real stinker.

Choice one: Nepo Baby. The self proclaimed super conservative son of the term limited current conservative in the office “representing” Alachua County from fifty miles away.
Choice 2: This self proclaimed super conservative endorsed by conservatives and the John Birch Society alike.

Both are running one platform. Not “How I will help the people in my district” but “Elect me because I am more conservative than that other guy” as if that is all that counts in their district.
What a choice between two giant piles of nothing.

  • Given the way the “conservatives” in Tallahassee are consistently taking power away from local governments, you’d have to be a fool to think this guy would be a friend to a small town like High Springs. No, he’ll be a friend to whoever the state GOP tells him to, or he’s not a modern Trump age “conservative”.
