High Springs firefighters douse Wednesday evening blaze
Press release from High Springs Fire Department
HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Around 9:00 p.m. on the evening of March 20, the High Springs Fire Department was dispatched to 23253 NW 178th Place in High Springs’ Patrician Gardens neighborhood, for a reported structure fire.
Firefighters arrived within five minutes and reported that fire was showing from the rear corner of a single-wide mobile home. Firefighters deployed a hose line and entered the structure to extinguish the fire, containing the blaze to the bedroom, where the fire is thought to have started.
Due to damage from fire, smoke, and water, the occupants of the home were displaced and were assisted by the American Red Cross in securing lodging and other necessities.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and the cause is believed to be faulty wiring. High Springs was assisted on-scene by Alachua County Fire Rescue and High Springs Police Department.
Firefighters, God bless ’em, always running to the fire or wreak or what have you, never away from it. Thanks to all of you and may God protect you.
