High Springs man arrested for burglary, theft, and property damage
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kaheem Naquaun Smith, 33, was arrested yesterday after allegedly entering a former girlfriend’s apartment without being invited and then destroying and stealing her security cameras.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy, Smith entered the victim’s apartment in Harbor Cove (6815 W. University Avenue) through an unlocked door at about 1:20 a.m. on February 13, without the victim’s knowledge. He reportedly walked into the victim’s living room, and she told him to leave, but he refused.
The deputy reported that Smith left after two hours, and on his way out, he removed security cameras from the front door area, destroyed the cameras, and walked away with them. He later allegedly returned to the apartment and tried again to go inside, but the victim called 911, and Smith was taken into custody.
Smith, whose address is listed as High Springs, has been charged with burglary of an occupied structure, petit theft, and misdemeanor property damage. He is also facing a sworn complaint for battery and property damage from an incident in High Springs on January 29, when he allegedly hit the same victim and broke a headlight on her vehicle. He has two misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $90,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Might wanna lock your doors if have an ex like that 🙄
I wish people would take a more proactive stance on self and home defense. This guy is a poster child for a domestic violence related murderer.
He needs to be locked up before something really bad happens to this young lady.
