High Springs man arrested for stalking

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Neal Andrew Troiano, 37, of High Springs, was arrested yesterday for stalking a former girlfriend.

A Gainesville Police Department officer reported that the victim told Troiano in June 2025 that she didn’t want any further contact with him, but he allegedly drove by her home repeatedly after that date.

The officer reported that Troiano could be seen on the victim’s doorbell camera on three occasions last summer; in each case, the video shows him coming to the door, repeatedly knocking, covering his face, and using his shirt to wipe fingerprints off the doorbell button.

In September 2025, Troiano allegedly followed the victim from her home to a Publix store, where he walked to her vehicle and started beating on the windows after pulling the door handle. The victim called 911 and reportedly showed the officer a video of the incident.

The officer filed a sworn complaint in September 2025, a formal charge was filed in November, and a Notice to Appear was sent to Troiano, but he did not respond. In January, Judge Susan Miller-Jones signed a warrant for Troiano’s arrest and set bail at $10,000.
