High Springs man hit by car and killed in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 73-year-old High Springs man was killed early this morning when he was hit by multiple cars in Columbia County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking in the northbound lane of U.S. Hwy 41, just north of Adams Street, at about 5:14 a.m. on August 13, when a northbound sedan driven by a 58-year-old Ft. White woman hit him. The pedestrian was thrown into the southbound lane and hit a second time by a southbound van driven by a 72-year-old Lake City man. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
