High Springs Police Department asks for help in identifying CVS robbery suspect

Press release from High Springs Police Department

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – At 7:30 p.m. on February 13, the High Springs Police Department responded to an armed robbery service call at CVS, 19225 NW U.S. Hwy 441, High Springs.

An investigation revealed that an unknown subject entered the business, implying that he was armed with a firearm, and demanded narcotics. Thereafter, the suspect took flight on foot and may have departed in a small gray compact vehicle. The suspect is believed to be a black male dressed in Nike gray attire.

Alachua and Clay Counties have recently experienced several CVS robberies, and law enforcement officials suspect that the same subject is involved.

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to contact HSPD Detective Tracy Taylor at ttaylor@highsprings.gov or (352) 955-1818. You can also call Crime Stoppers at (352)372-STOP and remain anonymous.

    • A privately-owned pharmacy – if there are any left around here – would be more likely to have a well-armed staff than a big chain like CVS. He probably sells the pills for big money. It’s nothing new.

      • She’s wearing a face mask…there should be enhanced penalties for committing a felony with a face mask on. It looks like you know who in gray Nike attire…must be an ugly thief is why the mask.

  • Believed to be a black male? What led to that conclusion? I can’t tell from the photo.

Wonder what the impact on these types of crimes proposed new legislation will have? If nothing else, it may make for great photos and in this specific instance, red & gray are the local high school’s colors.

      • I missed the video. Is it posted somewhere? “Believed to be a black male” with “believed” being the operative word Inspector Clouseau. We should just let you solve all the crime in the county, you just have to use the entirety, not just what lies east of SR 121.

      • Imagination: you must be a racist thinking that every robber in a hoodie and a mask is a black male…we don’t know her pronoun…it could be “they or Zhe”…

    • how thoughtful she is wearing the mask to protect us from her germs…a socially conscious robber…just like how we was robbed when the GNV CC voted themselves a raise…
