Homeless man arrested for exposing himself near campus after Homecoming game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Antonio Miranda, 53, was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly exposing himself near campus, in an area that was crowded with students after the UF Homecoming game.

At about 11:10 p.m. on October 18, a Gainesville Police Department officer in the 1800 block of West University Avenue was approached by multiple women and a security guard at a nearby establishment, all saying Miranda had exposed himself and masturbated in front of college students. The officer reported that one person showed him video of the incident.

The officer reported that when he made contact with Miranda, Miranda said, “I’m sorry,” and multiple people pointed at Miranda and said, “That’s him!”

Miranda reportedly asked to be Baker-acted because he didn’t want to go to jail. After he was arrested, he reportedly used racial epithets to refer to the jail staff, and he said he didn’t care what he did because he would be out of jail soon.

Miranda, who is described as homeless on the arrest report, has been charged with disturbing the peace and indecent exposure with a previous conviction for indecent exposure. He has six felony convictions (three violent) and 29 misdemeanor convictions (non-violent) and has served two state prison sentences, with his most recent release in July 2025. Judge James Colaw set bail at $110,000.
