Homeless man arrested for improperly touching 15-year-old girl at bus stop
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Myron Robert Davis, 63, was arrested yesterday for allegedly touching the inner thigh of a 15-year-old girl who was waiting at a bus stop and soliciting her for sexual acts in exchange for money.
At about 7:50 a.m. on May 21, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the 700 block of SE 3rd Street, where the 15-year-old victim said she was sitting at a bus stop, waiting for her bus, when Davis walked over and asked her whether the bus went to her high school. She said she did not answer, and Davis started touching her thigh in a sexual manner and said he would pay her if she let him touch her sexually. She said she froze, and Davis moved his hand to her inner thigh; she pushed him away, stood up, and went to the nearest bus driver to report the incident.
The officer found Davis at the Home Depot on NW 13th Street, and post Miranda, Davis reportedly said he was sitting with the victim and thought she was in her twenties. He said they were smoking a “blunt” together, and the “blunt” was on the victim’s thigh, so he grabbed it to keep it from burning her leg.
Davis, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with lewd or lascivious conduct by a person over 18 years of age. His complete criminal history is unavailable, but he has served 15 state prison sentences out of Alachua, Leon, Marion, and Taylor counties. Judge Bo Bayer ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Disgrace Market Place strikes again with another fine example of the homeless population.
I think our mayor has an extra room in his house. If this poor man had a room of his own and some of Harv’s 2nd helpings I’m sure he’d be a productive citizen in no time.
Commissioner Bryan Eastman would love for him to be a tow truck driver.
Criminal history unavailable, but he’s been to prison 15 times in this and surrounding counties?!?
Who’s he related to at the jail trying to protect him??
We get the full criminal history from the First Appearance Order. First Appearance Orders are not posted on the court website for sexual offenses, so the criminal history is not available in those cases. While they are public records, it can take days to weeks for those requests to be fulfilled.
Another of Ward’s ‘opportunities’ presented itself to one of his guests.
Notice it’s someone else’s daughter and not Ward’s; he wouldn’t be so forgiving and welcoming if it were.
Needs a rephrase of sorts — One of Ward’s guests seized an ‘opportunity’ when it was available.
Maybe the girl’s father would like the ‘opportunity’ to spend some one on one time with this guy.
There’s a lot of things that a governor can remove politicians from office for interfering with Gun rights not doing your job and speaking of not doing your job. A politicians job is to protect citizens of the community. They serve why in the hell these bastards in Gainesville cannot remove office for allowing this kind of crap in our neighborhood.
He’s here from other counties because of Grace Marketplace and poor policy.
We cannot be housing criminals from other counties to receive taxpayer benefits from Alachua county taxpayers.
Homeless benefits should be for 3 days for a hand up, and then you get a bus ticket to back to where you came from…
Ending homelessness is not the job of Alachua county taxpayers…it’s some commi liberal BS and is also part of great reset…
We will all “own nothing and be happy “ if our elected officials keep up with this liberal commi BS.
Good Ole Grace
To the Republican Party: can a voter referendum be made to cap taxpayer money being spent on the unhoused in Alachua county to .0001% and limit it to 3 days help and then a bus ticket back to the county they came from, make it mandatory that law enforcement enforce public safety with no panhandlers in street medians (zero tolerance), fast track evictions of illegal encampments on private property, and add language that Alachua county cannot harbor illegal aliens or the officials will subject to fine and jail? Also, those arrested for illegal encampments must go to work release to clean up the litter they left behind.. we can’t keep buying motels and having all this vagrant crime…it’s unsustainable…
A voter” initiative” I think is the way to go..
Another proud graduate of the GRACE Marketplace Pedophile Academy.
This is the kind of person Bryan Eastman wants to protect.
The City of Gainesville regular election is on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, for the Mayor At-Large seat, City Commissioner District 2, City Commissioner District 3, and City Commissioner District 4 seats.
Be my guest: Any republicans running?
