Homeless man charged with breaking glass door at Archer Road McDonald’s
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Justin Francis Walsh, 47, was arrested last night and charged with felony property damage after allegedly breaking a glass door at the Archer Road McDonald’s because he was angry at employees.
At about 8:53 p.m. on July 18, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to McDonald’s (3826 SW 40th Blvd) and reported that as he arrived, he saw Walsh kicking the glass door of the restaurant until the glass shattered; the officer also reported that Walsh bent both of the door’s frames while kicking the doors.
A witness told the officer that before he arrived, Walsh became angry when employees told him he couldn’t receive his food until he paid for it. The witness said Walsh began acting belligerently, screaming and shouting, and two citizens helped the witness push Walsh out of the restaurant.
Post Miranda, Walsh reportedly admitted that he had kicked the doors. When he was asked why he had done that, he reportedly said he thought McDonald’s was ripping him off; he said he stopped kicking the doors when he saw the officer.
The officer estimated the damage at over $3,000.
Walsh, who is described as homeless on the arrest report, has been charged with felony property damage. He has no local criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $10,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

What a weird concept. You have to pay BEFORE you get your food at McDonald’s. Lol he was getting ripped off….can we get another 10 million taxpayers dime to bring more well rounded people like him to Gainesville?
Why is he having to pay for food? Poe or Ward will feed him for free.
Anyone see the State has issued letters addressing sidewalks and crosswalks adorned with art and colors other than what’s specified by State Statutes?
The Commission is going to have a conniption. Maybe we’ll finally see that vein on Lard-ass explode.
It’s time for citizens to take over the courts. Demote lawyers and judges to same level as court reporters. Send repeat offenders away permanently.
Rid the ACLUSPLCDNC mafia from the other two branches as well. 👺👹👿🤡💩
Surprised? Shouldn’t be. All you had to do was see what happened on the Left Coast sanctuary $hities.
I’ll keep repeating this. Type the word homeless into the search box above and you can see hundreds of thefts, rapes, robberies, and attacks going back years. What you never see is the city of Gainesville solving this problem.
i got tired of gainesville ignoring me on the street. i went to syracuse. they help people. i didn’t spend one night on the street. they find you an apartment, they give you cash, they give you food stamps, they pay your rent, they pay your doctor bills, they help addicts get straight, they give you cab rides to your appointments. they pay for two years of schooling in whatever subjects you choose. they try to help. there’sa lot less crime because people have a place to live and money to buy whatever they want. they’re always trying to help them get jobs and be successful.
What did YOU do to help yourself?
I keep seeing ‘they’ and I don’t see ‘me’ or ‘I.’
J are you disabled? or just want a handout.
You have those that can’t work, and you have those who just simply looking to free load off the taxpayers.
I am 60 yoa at work and tired AF, but hey I got bills to pay.
Hope you plan to return to Syracuse and take all the homeless in G’ville with you.
Please return there and take your friends
Has any city solved these problems?
You’d have to go back in time to when police used their night sticks for their intended purpose. Nowadays, Miami police don’t play around. We need hardass city leadership instead of soft lardass like we’ve had for way too long. There are no unhoused neighbors – that’s foolishness.
Hey, wait until they raise your property taxes and a new batch of homeless are on the street. With the libtarts that are in charge here in Gainesville we’ll start looking like California real fast. You get what you vote for. Keep voting for thises democRats and you too can be homeless.
He’s a regular there and can be seen “working the day shift” and “holding court” near the utility boxes on the corner behind the fence. He’s vermin and should be permanently trespassed but in Alachua County that’s not going to happen. People -keep your car windows rolled up and be careful as he goes into their bathroom as well.
