Homeless woman arrested for battery of police officers

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Veda Michelle DeGiulio, 31, was arrested for trespassing at GRACE Marketplace and then allegedly stomping on the feet of two police officers and trying to bite them.
At about 7:41 a.m. on July 12, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to GRACE Marketplace (3055 NE 28th Drive), where a staff member reported that DeGiulio was on the property after having been trespassed for a year in July 2025. An officer reported that the staff member provided video of DeGiulio on the property, and he added that she was still in the area when he arrived.
After DeGiulio was transported to the jail, she allegedly ran away from two officers, saying she hated white men. Detention officers reportedly grabbed her, and the GPD officers regained control of her. DeGiulio allegedly pulled away, stomped on one officer’s foot, and then stomped on the other officer’s foot; she allegedly tried to bite the first officer’s arm and then turned and tried to bite the other officer’s hand. The first officer reported that he felt her teeth on his skin.
DeGiulio was reportedly taken to the ground until she calmed down, but when the officers sat her up, she allegedly tried again to kick the first officer.
DeGiulio, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and trespassing after a warning. She has three felony convictions (two violent) and 11 misdemeanor convictions (four violent). Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $105,000 and ordered a mental health evaluation.

Some peeps are homeless for a reason: to feed Dem lawyers and their wives’ NGOs.
She was in the right place…or should I say the left place.
Shouldn’t declaring she hated white men make her guilty of a hate crime or does that just work the other way around?

If she was Trespassed for 1 year in July 2025 her Trespass had Expired, but her conduct might suggest it is easier to find housing at Local Jail then to find it anywhere near Gainesville
It’s past time for The Alachua Chronicle to analyze, then publicly publish, the results of that which it posts:
% of crimes allegedly committed by the homeless/unsheltered vs. % of crimes allegedly committed by others in GNV.
I suspect The Alachua Chronicle posts are biased and un-balanced, inappropriately focusing on crimes by the homeless/un-sheltered.
When it’s your publication you can publish what you like. The Gainesville Sun publishes the PC version if you’re interested.
