Homeless woman arrested for knife attack
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Priscilla Lashon Williams-Cobb, 51, was arrested last night and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening another woman with a knife.
At about 9:15 p.m. last night, Williams-Cobb allegedly approached another woman for an unknown reason and held a knife to her throat, saying, “Get back, I’ll kill you.” The victim was in fear for her life and pushed Williams-Cobb’s arm back to get some distance. Williams-Cobb then allegedly pushed the knife into the victim’s back and again threatened to kill her. As the victim walked away, Williams-Cobb allegedly swung the knife at the victim but hit a nearby air mattress.
Two witnesses reportedly saw parts of the incident and corroborated the victim’s story. Video surveillance reportedly showed Williams-Cobb following the victim with a knife in each hand. The location of the attack was not disclosed, but Williams-Cobb and both witnesses are GRACE Marketplace residents.
Post Miranda, Williams-Cobb reportedly said, “The white man gave us knives.” The responding Gainesville Police Department officer asked if that was why she tried to stab the victim, and Williams-Cobb reportedly said yes. The officer noted that Williams-Cobb appeared to be “extremely intoxicated.”
Williams-Cobb has 14 felony convictions (two violent) and 46 misdemeanor convictions (four violent). She has served three state prison sentences, with her most recent release in 2013. She is facing a sworn complaint charging her with shoplifting from the Circle K at 20 NE Waldo Road on July 31. A sworn complaint charging her with domestic violence was filed in March, but the charges were later dropped. Judge Walter Green set bail at $10,000 and required her to maintain an alternate residence.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
of course it is grace marketplace residents…and the place has received just over 1 million dollars since January through June 30th, where the other places have received not even a quarter of that.
what other places?
60 convitions and STILL able to walk the streets and cause mayhem, it’s time somebody lets the governor know about judge “let them go green”.
Way to go Walt… another violent act with a knife. We need that knife violence summit. Another person who has no business walking around the streets.
WTF do the 3% voters elect clowns who think GRACE is doing a public service?
If GRACE didn’t exist, she would be hanging out in front of your house
“The white man gave us knives.”
Knives and firewater together? Throughout history when has that been a beneficial combination?
Wouldn’t want to run into this one in the middle of the night. Yikes!
And once again, Judge Green gives a low bail to a fellow person of color. 10 K? Unreal.
she’s homeless you dingbat, she can’t make bail
Don’t know if that’s a fair assumption, chances are pretty good she’s got a cellphone.
cell phones are free with food stamps
An easy cut and paste from yesterday…
Welcome to Gainesvillecisco! They need to bulldoze Grace Marketplace to the ground. If they forget to notify anyone inside, that’s fine…
That would take care of multiple issues all at once.
you’re worse than any of them. Wishing death on people who have been failed by society. fix your heart.
