Homeless woman arrested for robbery after going behind CVS counter to steal compressed air
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tiffany R. Tackett, 43, was arrested early this morning after allegedly going behind a counter at the CVS on Archer Road to steal four cans of compressed air and then resisting officers’ attempts to arrest her.
According to a Gainesville Police Department officer, Tackett entered CVS (3404 SW Archer Road) at about 4:10 a.m. on November 17 and walked to the register, holding a used CVS bag. She reportedly placed about $4 on the counter; an employee asked if she needed help with a purchase, but Tackett reportedly ignored her and walked toward the refrigerator. However, instead of going to the refrigerator, she allegedly opened a door that was marked “For Employees Only” and entered the employee area.
The employee told her she was not allowed to be there and needed to leave that area, but Tackett allegedly walked toward the employee and pushed her down before grabbing four cans of Dust-Off compressed air and leaving the store. The employee suffered a bruise and abrasion from the fall.
Officers found Tackett sitting in a chair at Starbucks (3524 SW Archer Road), and she allegedly walked away from officers before throwing herself into a corner and refusing to get up. She allegedly resisted being placed in handcuffs and inhaled from one of the compressed air cans while struggling with officers.
Post Miranda, Tackett reportedly declined to answer questions.
Tackett, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with robbery, resisting an officer without violence, and inhaling a controlled substance. She has two felony convictions (non-violent) and 20 misdemeanor convictions (one violent) and has active arrest warrants in Ohio and Texas. She was arrested in September for stealing a tip jar, served 30 days in jail after entering a plea of nolo contendere, and was released on October 24. Judge Jonathan Ramsey set bail at $60,000 on the new charges.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Was she an out of towner who discovered the Gainesville Wonderland known as Grace?
According to Mandani and Kamala all basic needs should be free, just for being born.
FYI, for the inhalers, there is no compressed air in any can of dust off. It’s similar to freon and people have died from inhaling the contents to get a buzz.
If only…
Another prized upstanding citizen, courtesy of our wonderful city commission via Grace Marketplace 😡😡😡😡
Another example of how GRACE was set up as an alternative to St. Francis House’s restrictions, to give addresses for repeat offenders and mentally ill drug abusers TO KEEP FEEDING LAWYERS 💩🤡👺👹👿
GRACE needs to be shut down, I have never heard of any positive stories from there. They consistently present the dregs of society who reek havoc on our once great city. Fire every single person that works there because clearly they aren’t doing any good for anyone.
If only we could have ‘the purge’.
And now Grace Mkt is institutionalized here because the city gave them the land for $1…
Other counties and prisons are releasing their felons here to receive our homeless benefits and free housing..
We should not see anyone sleeping on sidewalks around town or panhandlers in street medians if we have Grace mkt.
Build it and they will come!
Whatever happened to Rodney Long’s 10 year plan to end homelessness? It’s only made things worse.
These types shouldn’t be breathing any air, open or canned.
It’s that time of year. Weather getting crispy. Too cold to be north of the Florida border. People need free holiday meals and lodging. City giving Disgrace almost free property. What could go wrong?
