Homeless woman arrested for threatening to kill companion with a knife

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sapphira Lynette Crawford, 46, was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated assault, drug possession, and resisting arrest after allegedly attacking a companion with a knife and threatening to kill her.
At about 9:30 a.m. yesterday, Crawford, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, was walking in the 1600 block of NE 8th Avenue with the victim when she reportedly accused the victim of stealing her phone and then pulled out a 4-inch fixed-blade knife. The victim told a Gainesville Police Department officer that Crawford cut her with the knife, then chased her up to the fire station with the knife, saying, “I will kill you.”
Firefighters reportedly saw Crawford chasing the victim with a knife and tried to separate the two women, at which point Crawford left the area. Officers found her a few blocks away, where she allegedly resisted attempts to detain her.
After Crawford was handcuffed, she asked officers to get her bag, which she had left in a nearby vacant lot; officers found her bag, and she confirmed it was hers. Officers reportedly saw a small pouch with a straw sticking out of an outside pocket of the bag, and it tested positive for cocaine.
Crawford has one felony conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and nine misdemeanor convictions. Judge Walter Green set bail at $10,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
That’s a rough looking 46. Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Not getting along with other people is the main reason people are homeless. So why do taxpayers fund a program attracting and keeping such people in our community?
Q: Who benefits from that?
A: lawyers and bail bondsmen.
Woman has a felony conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and 9 misdemeanor convictions and Green gives her a 10 K bond? I wonder how many seconds it took her to get out?
Another guard for Harvey or Lauren’s porches. She seems to be willing to protect what’s hers.
She’s not the only idiot in town, voters keep voting for neighbors like this.
