HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – High Springs Police Department (HSPD) is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who attempted to break into a vehicle in the Cinnamon Hill neighborhood on July 6.

At about 4:50 a.m. on July 6, a doorbell camera recorded a black male suspect, about 6 feet tall and 20-30 years old, attempting to enter a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 17100 block of NW 251st Street.

The suspect was wearing a navy blue t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes, as well as a dark gray, full-coverage ski mask and athletic-style full-hand gloves.

The video shows the individual walking to the side of the home and appearing to peer through a window before returning to the vehicle and pulling the driver’s side door handle—clearly caught on camera. No entry was made into the vehicle.

HSPD suspects this individual may have approached other homes in the area. If you have surveillance footage, or if you believe your vehicle may have been entered, please contact the High Springs Police Department at (386) 454-1415. HSPD is confident that through enhanced policing, the suspects will be apprehended.

Officers are actively canvassing the neighborhood and passing out “Lock It or Lose It” flyers to raise awareness and help prevent further incidents.

HSPD reminds residents to always remember to lock vehicles and remove valuables.
