Illinois man arrested for taking videos of nude women in Murphree Hall showers at the University of Florida

Deontre Donnell Mason, 25, was arrested today and charged with nine counts of video voyeurism after videos of women in showers at Murphree Hall at the University of Florida were allegedly found on his phone.

Mason is charged with entering a second-floor women’s restroom shower area in the Murphree area at 4:25 p.m. on December 2, 2021, and using his iPhone to view and record women who were using the restroom and showers.

Mason was arrested on December 7, 2021, by the University of Central Florida (UCF) Police Department for video voyeurism at UCF. The UCF Police Department obtained a search warrant for Mason’s iPhone, and a forensic lab reportedly extracted 37 videos with GPS coordinates at the University of Florida, specifically in the Murphree and Library West areas. The videos showed 18 different women in bathroom stalls, showers, and stairwells.

Mason also has an outstanding warrant for similar charges at the University of Kentucky. The Alachua County warrant notes that Mason is a flight risk who is “likely to continue engaging in these criminal acts.” Mason is being held on $900,000 bond.
