Invest 97L could cause heavy rain starting this weekend

Updated at 5:50 p.m. with State of Emergency declaration
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Although the models have not converged on any particular track (see spaghetti models below), residents of Alachua County should be watching a system that is predicted to move into the Gulf of Mexico and could affect our area as soon as this weekend.

The biggest concern at this time is heavy rainfall that could start over the weekend and extend into next week. Areas prone to flooding should prepare for extended rainfall. Alachua County residents can text the word ALACHUA to 888-777 to receive updates from Alachua County Emergency Management.
Governor Ron DeSantis placed Alachua County and other counties under a state of emergency this afternoon so officials could make preparations for and respond to any damage caused by the storm.
LOL at “Invest 97L”. The Climate Cult names summer rain storms now. Are you all scared yet?
Those people are nuts. Apparently we had an extreme heat advisory notice all day today even though the temperature topped out at 91.
Must be a great occupation being a meteorologist. You can be wrong half the time and still keep your job.
