GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alachua County Commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. There is no evening portion. The meeting will be held in the Jack Durrance Auditorium on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 SE 1st St., Gainesville).
Agenda items include:
- Public Hearing to adopt an ordinance to amend Chapter 22 of the Alachua County Code of Ordinances, known as the “Alachua County Procurement Code”
- Certified Local Government (CLG) Program Follow-Up Discussion
- 2026 Alachua County Citizens Academy Graduates

During the regular meeting, the public can make comments at the meeting in person or call in during the 12 p.m. (noon) comment period. Callers will have three minutes to comment on anything not on the agenda and three minutes to discuss anything on the agenda. Callers can choose either or both. Those commenting on agenda items will not be allowed to comment again on those items if attending the meeting in person later in the day.
The call-in number is 1-929-205-6099. When prompted, enter meeting ID 873 5974 1977. Callers can hear the meeting while on hold and can use the system to listen. If you wish to comment, “raise your hand” by dialing *9 (star nine). Once you are called on by the last four digits of your phone number, unmute your phone by dialing *6 (star six).

Dear County Commissioners, please revisit the plan to repave CR337, specifically 282nd St in Newberry. The potholes are so extremely dangerous and the insufficient shoulder is constantly crumbling away. I invite you to drive your personal vehicle from SR26, down CR337 to the county line, stay in your lane, go the speed limit, and then determine if you did that 2-3 times every day, how you feel about the situation. I am terribly concerned about my own vehicle and also about the vehicles and lives of others. Please, do not make a decision without driving the road. Do not consider past trips.Thank you kindly for looking into this.
We do not need another golf course!!! Reminder: West End, Meadowbrook, Ironwood, Turkey Creek. Two have gone under, two struggle each year.. UF has a beautiful golf course already, they do not need another to waste water and not pay taxes, we, the property owners are tired of the stupidity! I pay $3700 for property taxes each year and have a watering schedule. The new golf course wasting 25 million gallons a day, not charged for full consumption and Alachua doesn’t benefit in anyway. Stop wasting OUR money!
