Press release from Just Between Friends

ALACHUA, Fla. – With the holiday season just around the corner, many families are bracing for extra expenses. According to Deloitte’s annual holiday survey, the average shopper will spend $1,652 this holiday season. That is a 14% increase over last year. A local mom is helping families in Gainesville save and make money – at her upcoming Just Between Friends Children’s pop-up consignment event. At Just Between Friends, families can participate as a consignor and as a shopper.

Organizer Karen Miner is also promoting family safety, partnering with the UF Health for a big family safety fair on Saturday. This fun-filled event includes police, firefighters, health care workers, and local safety experts with ID fingerprinting. The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office helicopter will be landing at 11 a.m.

This is an expensive time of year for many families, and JBF helps them save and make money.

MAKE MONEY: JBF helps families “turn clutter into cash” at this event. Local families sign up as consignors, price and tag their own items, and bring them to the venue. JBF does the rest of the work. Consignors earn 60% of the sale price. The average consignor check is about $450.

SAVE MONEY: JBF offers a great way for families to save money on fall and holiday items. Shoppers can typically save 50% – 90% on everything they need for their families: holiday clothing, shoes, gifts, toys, games, books, kids gear, baby equipment, furniture, and much more.

GIVING BACK: JBF also collects donations for Foster Florida, Kid 2 Kid Closet, Junior League, and Deeper Purpose Community Church.
