Labor Day message from Mayor Ward

Press release from the City of Gainesville
Labor Day grew from the strength and perseverance of working people who, over a century ago, stood together to insist their work, and their dignity, be respected. From that movement came this holiday — a chance to recognize the workers who contribute to the strength of our community and nation day in and day out.
Here in Gainesville, that legacy appears in many forms. It’s in the police officer who keeps our neighborhoods safe, the teacher guiding curious minds, the construction worker improving our roads, and the faith-based leader offering hope and care. Our city is filled with people, seen and unseen, who sustain and enrich our lives every day.
Today, we pause to honor all workers. We give thanks for the quiet dedication that weathers storms, fuels community, and creates purpose. If your work lifts our city — even in small ways — you are making Gainesville stronger and better.
May today bring you the rest you deserve and the quiet pride of knowing how deeply you matter.
— Harvey

That message coming from someone who likely hasn’t labored much at all.
Lifting a fork or spoon doesn’t count.
If that’s your measure of which elected leaders to listen to you voted, I’d like to know who’s left. The difference is which ones try to help working Americans with things like affordable health care and day care, and which ones try to end them.
Cheap illegal and foreign labor is a scourge of globalists like him, and the poverty it generates lets him pretend to care.
MAGA is winning, sorry. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
meaningless platitudes from a hive mind drone
Resistance is futile…lol
Yes, Happy Labor Day to all working Americans, a sentiment most can agree with, except for our crowd of regular losers here at the Chronicle.
