Law enforcement agencies report shootings overnight

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two local law enforcement agencies reported shootings last night.
At about 5:55 p.m., a drive-by shooting in the 500 block of SW 68th Terrace, in the Holly Heights neighborhood, injured one person. Alachua County Sheriff’s Office reported that the person’s injuries were not life-threatening, no arrests were made, and witnesses in the area were not cooperative. The case is still under investigation.
At about 11 p.m., Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers responded to several calls of shots fired at Sweetwater Square Apartments. GPD reported that officers found several shell casings and several rifle rounds hit two apartments, but nobody was injured.
Our town is becoming a war zone, folks!
Gainesville is officially a Ward Zone.
Wtf is this a series of GTA Gainesville. This is ridiculous. We’re soon going to have to become officers & help ASO & GPD get these silly’s off the streets

I’m glad Lonnie is gonna have that Gun Buy Back Event coming up because that’s doing a bang up job so far.. 🤷🏿… look until GPD N ASO earn back the trust of those neighborhoods then the bs will continue 🙄.. the same people don’t want that gangsta element in the neighborhood either but nobody is gonna help because they also don’t want people bit in the eye by k9’s or shot when they are unarmed..
ASO needs to put a sub station by the SWAG center. Constantly patrol Mike Zone. Holly Heights to Majestic and over to Tower Oaks.
This is what the liberal majority want…they continue to vote for individuals who would rather give out free handouts than provide LEOs with what they need. Remember, it was more important to them to stop airboats from running at night.
They know what the problem is but they’re too afraid to address it at the source.
I wonder if the shots fired at Sweetwater, were used by the guns that were recently stolen in the area.
I can’t help but wonder if the perps in these shootings have had their wrists slapped, or just will have. It is very sad that the Democrats run governments like ours and that the voters put up with it, year after year.
It’s just a matter of time and this once safe great little community will become a war zone like LA or some other rat hole. Democrats in power will assure that happens… Something for them to wring their hands over and whine about.
Vote democrat people! Dem’s know how to stop crime. Vote demonrat??????? Hey wait a minute you have been voting demonrat for how long.
This is gang related and the cops know it. A realistic plan needs to be implemented. Organizing a unity walk and cleaning up people’s yards while in uniform all in the name of peace is not working. The commissioners and law enforcement leadership need to stop playing politics with the officers and give them the power to deal with this crime. Make GPD a place people want to work at.
