Letter: Alachua Chick-fil-A saves the day!

Letter to the editor

Hello Chick-fil-A team members of Alachua,

My name is Matthew Ezell, and I am the guy that picked up the rush wedding order on Saturday. Thank you so much for saving the wedding reception with the good Lord’s chicken!

“Chick-fil-A Saves The Day”! They whipped up the food within 30 minutes, while having a long line of customers inside the restaurant, as well as having both drive-thrus full of cars. The manager received my phone call around 4:00 p.m. and graciously agreed to commit to a rush order for a wedding after the original caterer was a no-call no-show.

The manager and his team definitely rose to the occasion and went above and beyond to ensure that the bride and groom had a good meal for their wedding reception. They were super nice, and you could really tell that they cared and empathized with our situation, with the original caterer being a no-call no-show.

I arrived around 4:30 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A located in Alachua, FL, with store number 05989. By 4:45 p.m., they had my truck loaded up and ready to roll, or at least I thought so. I left, and when I arrived back at the wedding venue, The Barn at Rembert Farms, I realized I had forgotten the salad. As I went to hop back in the truck to go pick it up, Hannah from Chick-fil-A met me at the venue with the salad. She went out of her way to make sure we didn’t go without. I’m extremely impressed, delighted, and grateful for all of the hard work and compassion that the employees provided us with.

P.S. The mother of the bride is very grateful and says God bless you all!

Best Regards,
Matthew Ezell

  • Yes, Chick-fil-A, always has my vote and money, because they are consistently well-run and the food is decent enough. The last two times I’ve simply tried to get coffee from McDonald’s, the employees were comatose.

  • They are amazing! So friendly and compassionate with people with special needs!
